Introduction:

Our group Smrkeci have attended excursion to Celje and Ljubljana. This report will be especially dedicated to the part when we visited an exhibition of Letizia Battaglia in order to present her incredible photographs.

Techno park Celje:

Firstly, we visit Techno park Celje. Which not only contained impressive experiments but also a fashion show and programming lessons.

Entrance of the gallery:

After that, we visited a gallery in Ljubljana. Entrance did not look appealing; however, the inside was splendid. Everything was in black colour, just photos had lighting.

Poverty related photos:

We were told about Battaglia’s passion in photographing kids and young ladies. She took photos whereas they were playing or simply posing at walls. In the exhibition many pictures were showing poverty. She was fascinated by modest people owing to their happiness.

Mafia:

The most memorable moment of the excursion were definitely her photos of mafia. Sicilia was always known for its crime. Photographer’s black-and-white images added even more curiosity. Gallery contained many crimes related photos from shot people to illegal businesses. The most concerning were images of kids holding guns.

Conclusion:

I could not admire Battaglia more owing to her courage to capture mafia in images. Such pictures were fascinating, so I think there should be more of them. Programming lessons, in my opinion were the most instructive part of the whole excursion due to building robots. On the whole, excursion was enjoyable.
