By Jaka Horvat

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this report is to represent the excursion and how students of secondary school Jesenice spend their free time on the excursion to Ljubljana and Celje.

FREE TIME IN CELJE

After the arrival in Celje we were given the opportunity to explore around town. Firstly we headed to a local shop and bought some snacks. Afterwards we made a stroll down to the river Savinja and viewed some of Celje’s best architecture. While walking, we observed the medieval church of Saint Daniel, which has glorious stained glass windows. When we got to the riverside, we sat down on a bench and enjoyed our snack. On the way back we decided to use a different way and on the main square we saw the glorious neo-gothic Celje house which stood out from the rest, due to its gorgeous side tower.

FREE TIME IN LJUBLJANA

In Ljubljana we had an appointment for an art exhibition about Letizia Battaglia and mafia life in Sicily. Since we arrived early, we had enough time to go around Ljubljana and get lunch. Not only that, but we also went sightseeing Ljubljana’s main attractions. We walked along river Ljubljanica and watched the by-passing boats and the breathtaking riverside architecture.

CONCLUSION ABOUT EXCURSION

All in all the day was enjoyable, because there was so much happening all the time. I would highly recommend visiting Tehnopark, even if you are not that interested in Physics and robotics since it is very fascinating and convenient. The art gallery was very unique, but some of the paintings showed brutal events that happened back in the days in Sicily and they may cause discomfort to some viewers.
