REPORT ON: Amazing experiments in Technopark Celje

The aim of this report is to is to present the experiment in Technopark Celje for ITS B. I will also explain why I like and do not like certain ones.

Basic information and Ames room

To begin with, the experiments are using basic or more complex science and optical illusions, therefore they could easily trick you. If you have a tough understanding of certain attraction, staff are going to offer you help. Although there are many interesting experiments, one of them will be truly unforgettable. That is the Ames room. On the inside, the room is distorted whereas outside, the room looks completely normal through a lens. As a result, optical illusion is created. People that are standing on the top of the slope seem absolutely bigger than in reality. The opposite applies for people standing at the bottom.

Other interesting attractions

Other experiments worth mentioning are the simulation which can tell you your weight and jump height on every planet in our solar system, a sphere with ability to generate lightning and Van de Graaff generator, which produces small electro shocks you do not feel, but it raises your hair.

Room for improvement

Even though the experience was very fun, I still think there is some room for improvement. Some experiments such as Wave tank which simulated waves could have had a stronger generator to make a nicer wave. Another one is a experiment which simulated tsunami. When you made it, it was

really hard to see what is going on. If there were stairs to see from bird’s eye view it could have been an amazing experiment.

Opinion

All in all this excursion was unique. I would love to stay for longer, but sadly the schedule did not allow it. I would highly recommend you pay the Technopark a visit if you are in anyway interested in science.
